Samarinda



As the capital of East Kalimantan Province, Samarinda is one of the largest cities in Kalimantan. The city is split into two by the Mahakam River, which became one of the tourist destinations.

Samarinda has various tourist attractions, ranging from nature to religion. Some natural attractions include Tanah Merah Waterfall, Berambai Waterfall, Serang Pinang Waterfall, and Unmul Samarinda Botanic Garden complete with lake and zoo.

Not only that, the traveler can visit the Pampang Culture Village inhabited by the Dayak Kenyah tribe. Samarinda also has religious attractions and pilgrimage, one of which is the Tomb of La Mohang Daeng Mangkona who is the founder of Samarinda City.
