Berau is the name of the district located in East Kalimantan Province. Berau is the gateway to Derawan Islands, one of the prima donna of marine tourism in Indonesia.
Derawan Islands have several islands such as Derawan, Sangalaki, Kakaban, Maratua, Panjang, and Samama. Derawan is one of the most beautiful underwater spots in Indonesia, because of the many fauna such as turtles and manta rays that can be seen without having to dive.
Not only that, Derawan Islands also have a lake stingless jellyfish (stingless jellyfish) located on the island of Kakaban. Such a lake is very rare. Lake with similar species found in Palau Islands, also Togean in Sulawesi.
